GoPro, which celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2022, announced that its highly profitable GoPro subscription service has surpassed the two million subscriber mark. The GoPro subscription offers customers unlimited cloud storage, the ability to automatically upload footage directly from GoPro cameras to the cloud, premium editing tools in the Quik app, a private livestreaming platform, a guaranteed replacement for damaged cameras, exclusive savings on GoPro cameras and up to 50 percent off accessories on GoPro.com. “Our subscription service is having a profoundly positive financial impact on our business, and we’re excited to announce that we’ve surpassed the two million subscriber mark,” said Nicholas Woodman, founder and CEO of GoPro. “We expect subscriber growth to continue to be impressive as we regularly introduce new features and benefits that further enhance subscriber value.” According to Brian McGee, CFO and COO of the company, two million subscribers translates into $100 million in annual recurring revenue with a gross margin of 70-80 percent, positively impacting the company’s bottom line. “We expect subscription growth to continue as we add significant new features and benefits on an ongoing basis.”
