Humanoo, an automated B2B digital health platform used by corporations and health insurance companies founded in Berlin five years ago, has completed a $10 million round of funding involving new investors such as Sanitas and Verve and existing investors including Rocket Internet. Switzerland’s two largest health insurance companies, the CSS Group and Helsana, have also participated in the new financing round. The funds will be used to expand the company’s team of more than 70 people and to expand internationally. Acting in behalf of more than 300 B2B clients in more than ten countries including Axel Springer, BNP Paribas, Coca-Cola and Zalando, Humanoo offers more than 3,000 customized coaching sessions in five languages for fitness, physiotherapy, yoga, mindfulness, sleep and nutrition, combined with gamification and recommendations, to improve the users’ physical and mental health. Their health and fitness activities are translated into monetary and non-monetary rewards, including discounts on insurance policies. A year ago, Humanoo acquired WePulse, a similar company set up in France by Andy Gugenheimer, a well-known entrepreneur and headhunter in the sporting goods sector who is now Humanoo’s general manager for France.
