Through Simple Shoes – a new entity operating within its Kandui Holdings – the Hurley family has acquired the outstanding assets and intellectual property of the Simple skate shoe brand from KTSimple. The Simple brand was founded in the 1990s by Eric Meyer but went dormant in 2011. Denis Ryan, owner of the footwear design firm ICB Intl., acquired Simple’s trademarks in 2015 and for the past two years has been operating the brand through, with mostly direct-to-consumer (DTC) sales. He will be retaining a stake in Simple and continue working with the brand.
