The US brand management group Iconix International has acquired a majority stake in the British streetwear brand Hoodrich, thereby expanding its brand portfolio, which already includes Umbro, Pony, Ocean Pacific and Lee Cooper. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Hoodrich founder Jay Williams will retain a minority stake.

The brand is looking to expand globally, using Mumbai-based Batra Group as its distribution partner and UK-based JD Sports as its global retail partner. The brand also plans to increase its presence in the US in all 50 states and expand into the Middle East and Latin America with JD Sports and local partners. In addition, the brand plans to expand its women’s assortment to complement its men’s line.

Founded in 2014 and based in Birmingham and Watford, Hoodrich is recognized as a leading lifestyle streetwear brand with over 1,000 retail stores in 24 countries and a strong direct-to-consumer e-commerce business.

Iconix International transitioned to private ownership under Lancer Capital in 2021.
