SunGod has launched a new crowdfunding campaign through Crowdcube. The campaign, dubbed “The 2022 Vision Raise,” went live on Nov. 15. The British performance eyewear brand has a fundraising target of £1 million (€1.1 million), specifically aimed at the next stage of its growth. Thanks to the new funds, the company plans to scale up its presence in the U.K. while also starting to expand into the U.S. Additionally, the company intends to invest in product innovation plus launch prescription sunglasses. Other objectives include new partnerships to reach new audiences as well as further investments in sustainability, the launch of the SunGod Foundation in late 2023, and the opening of SunGod Basecamp London in 2024.

SunGod was co-founded in 2013 by Ali and Zoe Watkiss. It closed its last funding round on Nov 10, 2020, from an equity crowdfunding round, reportedly reaching its target in only 11 minutes and closing the raise with 1,004 investors and £1.5 million in 24 hours. The brand operates a direct-to-consumer model. SunGod is one of the 29 brands recognized in the 2022 Laureus Sports For Good Index, which features the brands that have a meaningful societal impact on the sports industry. It is also a certified B Corp.
