In its latest financial report for the second quarter, Foot Locker announces that late next year, it will be moving its global headquarters from New York City to St. Petersburg, Florida, and after that, maintain “only a limited presence in New York.”
The purpose, the report reads, is “to further build on the Company’s meaningful presence in St. Petersburg and to enable increased collaboration among teams across banners and functions, while also reducing costs.” There is a stated connection, too, with the “Lace Up” plan introduced in March 2023 under then-new CEO Mary Dillon.
In September, the company will open its Global Technology Services (GTS) Hub in Dallas, Texas, under the leadership of CTO Adrian Butler. This, says the report, will “accelerate technology delivery and cross-functional collaboration with access to a best-in-class technology talent pool.”
