The Italian Trade Agency (ITA) has reported that the Japanese company Teijin Frontier Co., Ltd. founded the joint venture Save the Duck Japan Ltd. based in Tokyo together with the Milan-based clothing company Save the Duck, a brand of animal-free outerwear. Kenichi Haruta of Teijin Frontier was appointed president.
The new company, in which Save the Duck holds a 51 percent stake and Teijin Frontier 49 percent, commenced operations on June 25.
Teijin Frontier has been distributing Save the Duck products in Japan since 2020. It has signed a partnership agreement with Sanki Shoji to open limited-time stores and sell wholesale to specialty stores, and sales have increased year by year. The decision to establish a Japanese company was made to further expand operations in the country, including opening a flagship store in Japan by the end of next year, as well as promoting the development of directly operated stores and strengthening sales through the brand’s official website.
