The US vision care giant – Nike’s eyewear licensee – has taken over Marcolin, which holds the global eyewear license for Adidas.
VSP Vision, the US-based parent of Marchon Eyewear and global licensee for Nike eyewear, has announced the acquisition of Marcolin Group, the Italian eyewear manufacturer that holds the global license for Adidas Eyewear. The deal, revealed on Sept. 6, 2025, involves the purchase of Marcolin from PAI Partners and minority shareholders and is intended to boost VSP Vision’s brand portfolio and global market position.
“With a portfolio of some of the world’s most sought-after brands and advanced in-house manufacturing capabilities, Marcolin will strongly complement our existing offerings,” said VSP Vision CEO Michael Guyette.
The acquisition unites more than 60 licensed and proprietary eyewear brands, including Tom Ford, Bally, Guess and ic! berlin under one group, further strengthening VSP’s product and licensing capabilities. Marcolin generated €546 million in annual revenue in 2024, while Marchon is believed to reach between $700 million and $850 million.
The combination will expand both companies’ global reach: Marcolin reinforces VSP’s presence in EMEA markets, while gaining access to VSP’s US network of over 42,000 affiliated eye doctors and more than 85 million members. Manufacturing synergies are expected, with Marcolin operating two factories in Italy and both groups relying on Asian OEM partners.
Financial details were not disclosed, though the transaction may value Marcolin at over $1 billion. The deal positions VSP Vision as the third-largest player in the global eyewear industry.
