New York City-based consumer-focused investment manager Consortium Brand Partners (CBP) has announced the acquisition of Outdoor Voices, an athleisure lifestyle brand founded in 2013 by Tyler Haney, also from New York City. This is CBP’s second acquisition, following the announcement of a majority stake in Reese Witherspoon’s fashion and lifestyle brand Draper James in September 2023.
CBP’s acquisition of the Outdoor Voices assets is focused on growing the category and expanding the brand globally while strategically leveraging owned channels to increase market penetration and brand visibility. CBP believes that a brand’s strength is rooted in a unique identity and strong DNA. At its core, Outdoor Voices has broken through the market of performance-orientated giants by standing out and focusing on the joy of movement, appreciation of the outdoors, and community and, most importantly, encouraging people to have fun and feel comfortable in their own skin.
With a growth strategy and global expansion plan, CBP will focus on maintaining and strengthening the three pillars on which Haney built his brand: People, Planet and Product. This commitment is in line with CBP’s core values and contributes to the culture of building strong relationships with its partners and global distributors.
“As of today, Outdoor Voices is the healthiest it’s ever been, and we have already begun positioning it for continued growth domestically and internationally, spanning its core offerings and new categories that authentically embody its brand ethos,” commented Jonathan Greller, President and co-founder of CBP.
CBP is led by Geller and fellow industry veterans Cory M. Baker and Michael DeVirgilio.
