Allbirds announced the launch of its Remix Collection, a new footwear line created from manufacturing waste through partnerships with Blumaka and Circ. The initiative aims to reduce landfill-bound foam and textile scraps by transforming them into performance-ready shoes. The collection includes two models – the Runner NZ Remix and the Cruiser Remix – featuring midsoles developed by Blumaka from reclaimed foam. According to Allbirds, the process uses 99 percent less water and generates 65 percent fewer carbon emissions than conventional foam production. Circ contributes with its hydrothermal textile-to-textile recycling process, which separates and recovers cotton and polyester fibers from blended waste garments, reintroducing them as virgin-quality materials.

“This collaboration proves that circular materials don’t require compromise,” said Peter Majeranowski, CEO of Circ, underlining the potential to scale textile recycling into footwear. Adrian Nyman, Chief Design Officer at Allbirds, added that the brand sees Remix as “the next step in our innovation journey.”

The footwear industry generates an estimated 344,000 tons of midsole foam waste annually, much of which traditionally goes to landfills. By intervening in this process, Allbirds and its partners aim to show how waste materials can be converted into durable and stylish products.

The Remix Collection is available in the US and UK, retailing at $140. It follows Allbirds’ previous sustainability-focused projects, including its collaboration with Adidas on the Futurecraft.Footprint and the M0.0NSHOT Zero carbon shoe.
