The British outdoor and bike brand Alpkit was able to raise £1.5 million (€1.6m-$1.9m) in an investment campaign launched on the CrowdCube funding platform in July. Part of the news was that Alpkit wanted to achieve B Corporation Certification by 2022. Well, it happened much faster as the company announced on Sept. 2 that it has completed and passed the rigorous process. Brands or companies certified as such by the nonprofit organization B Lab from Pennsylvania are businesses that meet the highest verified standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. It is one of the only certifications that is not for a product or service, but for the whole business behind the product or service.
