Italian retailer Cisalfa Sport will support Special Olympics Italia in 2024.

Special Olympics is a global non-profit that provides sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. The organization was founded in 1968 by Eunice Kennedy Shriver, a member of the Kennedy family and a sister of former US President John F. Kennedy. The organization currently supports more than 5 million athletes worldwide, of which over 19,000 are in Italy alone.

Cisalfa will support Special Olympics Italia athletes in projects and events ranging from running to football, basketball to skiing. The partners will soon organize a football tournament involving 700 athletes, reports Corriere della Sera. In addition, Cisalfa Sport will be the main partner of the next edition of Special Olympics’ European Basketball Week in November, which will attract athletes with and without intellectual disability from all over Europe.

The retailer debuted its collaboration with Special Olympics Italia on the occasion of the XXXV Special Olympics National Winter Games in Sestrière/Pragelato/Entracque/Borgo San Dalmazzo in Piedmont on March 4-8, where it supported the 600 athletes who competed at the Games.
