Austrian ski manufacturer Atomic has released its first-ever Impact Statement, with the approach, “Consider everything. Compromise nothing.” The 38-page, data and science-driven report details the steps Atomic is taking to address the challenges posed by the climate crisis and to minimize environmental impact.
Atomic has declared three science-based targets in the report, including a 50 percent reduction in CO2 emissions across all products by 2030 and net zero by 2050. Also detailed are action, innovation, and collaboration steps that will be taken to achieve a lower-impact future.
Measures already taken include heating the brand’s Altenmark site – powered by 100 percent renewable energy – with local woodchip instead of oil, introducing life cycle assessments for alpine and touring skis and boots, and introducing 2023’s new environmental management system (EMS).
