The Paris-based company of Reju, specializing in textile regeneration, has launched its first facility, Regeneration Hub Zero, in Frankfurt, Germany. This milestone follows Reju’s incorporation just a year ago. The hub, set to begin operations in 2025, focuses on creating a circular textile system starting with polyester waste, using technology developed by IBM Research

Reju is owned by Technip Energies, a global leader in sustainable engineering and technology with over 65 years of experience. Headquartered in Paris, Technip operates in 34 countries, contributing expertise in accelerating climate solutions and advancing a low-carbon economy.

Reju’s mission is to address the global issue of textile waste – 92 million tons are produced annually, with less than 1 percent being recycled. The company plans to change this by building infrastructure and forming partnerships to recover and regenerate textiles. The end product, Reju Polyester, boasts a 50 percent lower carbon footprint than virgin polyester and is infinitely recyclable.

“Our Frankfurt hub showcases how advanced technology can tackle the textile waste crisis,” said CEO Patrik Frisk, a former Under Armour and Aldo Group executive, who leads Reju alongside COO Alain Poincheval, a Technip Energies veteran. With the help of upstream partners, Reju aims to revolutionize the textile industry by introducing a sustainable and scalable recycling system for polyester and beyond.
