London-based material science brand Pangaia has received B Corp certification, scoring 84.5 points in the assessment. Administered by the non-profit organization B Lab, the B Corp certification assesses a brand’s social and environmental impact. By obtaining the certification, Pangaea joins a community of 6,058 companies worldwide. More than 1,000 companies make up the B Corp community in the U.K., including, for example, Berghaus, Finisterre and Allbirds.

Pangaia was also awarded four Impact Business Models (IBMs) in governance and environment to recognize the brand’s use of more innovative materials and processes. In December 2021, Pangaia launched a collection using organic dyeing technology. Compared to traditional cotton dyeing, Colorifix technology reduces water consumption by at least 49 percent, electricity consumption by 35 percent and CO2 emissions by 31 percent. Earlier this year, Pangaia announced its commitment to achieving net-zero operations by 2025 and shared its goal to become net-zero carbon by 2040.
