Private Sport Shop, the French private sale retailer specializing in sports and outdoor products, has earned B Corp certification, marking a significant milestone in its sustainability journey. This prestigious certification reflects the company’s efforts to meet rigorous social and environmental standards, highlighting its commitment to ethical business practices.

The B Corp certification process involves a comprehensive assessment covering five key areas: governance, employee welfare, community impact, environmental sustainability and customer care. Private Sport Shop’s final score of 84.9 exceeded the threshold of 80 points, securing its place among other B Corp-certified brands such as Patagonia and Veja.

Private Sport Shop’s business model focuses on selling excess stock from premium sports brands, promoting eco-friendly products, and reducing waste by preventing the need to manufacture new goods. In addition to its environmental efforts, the company prioritizes employee well-being through its “Healthy Living” program, which fosters a positive work environment centered around health and wellness.

Sébastien Rohart, President of Sportscape Group (formed from the merger of Private Sport Shop and Sport Pursuit in 2022), commented, “Being B Corp helps us identify weaknesses and drives us to become better, not just for the business but for the world.”

The certification aligns with the broader mission of Sportscape Group to balance profitability with social and environmental responsibility.
