German retailer Sport Conrad has now sold the 160 used garments from brands Patagonia, Ortovox, Maloja and Norrøna that were collected from mid-November 2022 as part of a pilot project integrated into the retailer’s sustainability initiatives. According to the company, the second-hand project named Nomoi (Bavarian for “again”) that was piloted with a limited-time collection and sales phases was a success. After cleaning and care, the clothes were offered in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen Sport Conrad store, where they got sold within a few days.
Managing director Hans Conrad commented on the Nomoi project: “We have been toying with the idea of including secondhand in our business concept for some time. Because it is apparent to us: we have to set many levers in motion in order to change from a linear to a circular business model. With Nomoi, we have taken another important step - for the time being, as a pilot project and limited to the Garmisch-Partenkirchen store and selected brands. From 2023, we will establish Nomoi in our three stores and extend it to other brands.”
