In a landmark move towards greater transparency in the fashion industry, Carbon Trail, TrusTrace and Xoriant  have announced a partnership that brings a cutting-edge solution for fashion and retail brands to track and verify their product claims. The partnership aims to help brands comply with regulatory requirements, such as the EU’s upcoming Digital Product Passport, while enhancing the transparency of their environmental impact.

At the core of the new solution is the seamless aggregation of supply chain and environmental data, allowing brands to market their products with verifiable, detailed insights about their origins, materials and sustainability credentials. TrusTrace, based in Stockholm, Sweden, offers a market-leading platform designed to capture data at every supply chain point. This ensures that brands can track where their products are manufactured, the materials used, and the conditions under which they are made. This data is then integrated with Xoriant’s robust data architecture, which is headquartered in Sunnyvale, California, and provides a scalable, real-time platform for supply chain insights.

Xoriant’s platform engineering capabilities ensure that the data gathered from various touchpoints in the supply chain is accurately processed and displayed. “Our solution focuses on data accuracy, scalability, and transparency, helping brands streamline compliance efforts while offering more visibility to consumers,” explained Shyam Pawar, VP of Sales at Xoriant.

Meanwhile, Carbon Trail, an AI-driven sustainability platform headquartered in the US with offices in Denmark and India, adds crucial environmental data. By measuring over 16 environmental impact indicators, including water usage, land use and microplastics, Carbon Trail provides a holistic view of each product’s environmental footprint. “When brands make environmental claims, the underlying data must be comprehensive and accurate,” said Ashish Rohil, CEO and Co-Founder of Carbon Trail. “We work with TrusTrace to ensure full transparency and compliance, allowing brands to meet stringent Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) standards.”

The process starts with brands collecting and uploading supply chain data into the TrusTrace platform. From there, the platform works with Carbon Trail to measure environmental impacts at the product level. Once all data is aggregated, the information is stored in a Digital Product Passport – a digital record accessible via a QR code on the product. Consumers can scan the code to view environmental data, such as carbon footprint and recyclability, alongside traceability information like where the item was manufactured.

“We’re thrilled to offer this groundbreaking solution that brings unprecedented clarity and accountability to fashion and retail brands,” said Shameek Ghosh, CEO of TrusTrace. “This partnership helps brands not only meet regulatory requirements but also build trust with consumers by offering transparent, verifiable product claims.”
