D3O, a U.K.-based specialist provider of impact protection solutions and materials, has appointed Kevin Franks as SVP marketing, North America. Franks joins D3O with more than two decades of marketing and brand management experience in the cycling and powersports industry, including roles with Fox Racing, Specialized and Giro. Franks spent the last two years at Soldier Unlimited, a brand building agency. Franks’ role is to develop and implement the D3O brand and U.S. marketing plan across the board as the company seeks to expand its position in North America. D3O partners with a portfolio of global brands in motorcycle, sports, defense, workwear and consumer electronics. D3O products are used by the U.S. Department of Defense, Fox Racing, Zagg and Klim. More recently, D3O products have been adopted by brands such as Harley Davidson, Specialized, Giro, Ariat and Wrangler. Franks’ appointment continues D3O’s growth ambitions in North America. In March of this year, the company opened its new West Coast sales and marketing office in Huntington Beach, California, to complement its existing facilities in Virginia.
