Dakine, the brand of outdoor and action sports accessories owned by the GSM group, is preparing to introduce a range of garments for skiing and snowboarding. Consisting of technical pants and jackets, it will be displayed at the next Ispo Munich fair and will hit European store shelves in the second half of 2012. Dakine said the range would not compete directly with apparel by the Billabong brand, also owned by the GSM group, as Dakine will be more technical, suitable for a wider range of mountain sports and with a high-end price positioning. Dakine's outerwear is meant to complement its current offering of packs, bags, gloves, headwear and base layers.
