Décathlon has opened a new store concept at the train station of Lille Flandres, near the retail giant's head office in northern France. Décathlon Mobility focuses on urban transport, selling mostly bicycles, scooters, luggage, footwear, accessories and a range of seasonal products. The store also provides a click and collect service. For four years until 2014 Décathlon operated Greenway, a store with a similar concept at another location in the station. The company said the current location was much more judicious. Décathlon Mobility is described as a test, responding to demand from commuters and the French railway services. The annual passenger traffic at Lille Flandres is estimated at about 20 million, with national connections as well as international high-speed rail routes.
