Décathlon has opened its first distribution center in Germany. Located at Schwetzingen, near Mannheim, it measures 30,000 square meters and employs 180 people, with a plan to raise the staff to 300. The new structure will service the 18 stores that Décathlon has in the country and the German customers who are buying from its website. The big French-based retailer opened four new stores in Germany in the past year. It will add a 19th door in Neustadt next November. Until now, Décathlon's German stores were serviced from its French warehouses.
