Decathlon is continuing its Swedish initiative with a new store that will be opened in 2016 in the suburbs of Stockholm. Decathlon entered the Swedish market in 2011 with its first store in Stockholm. In 2013, it opened store number two with a product ranged adapted to the Swedish market. The same year the company reported a loss of SEK 26 million (€2.7m-€3.0m) for Sweden. What followed was the closure of its flagship store and a plan to focus on e-commerce instead. Just last spring, Decathlon introduced its own e-commerce platform, where Swedes now have access to the entire international range of 40,000 products in over 70 sports.
