Decathlon is expanding rapidly in Africa. It opened last month its first store in Kenya, covering 1,500 square meters in the Hub Mall of Nairobi. An outdoor playground enables customers to try out new products and to discover new sports activities. The store will be supplied from a distribution center in Morocco, where the company opened its first African store in 2009. Other openings are expected in Kenya, the 50th country on Decathlon's continuously growing list of new markets and the tenth new market opened in 2018, following the opening of the retailer's first stores in Lithuania, Greece and Sri Lanka. In Africa, where customers are naturally attracted by its low-priced offerings, Decathlon now has also a presence in the Ivory Coast, Tunisia, Egypt, Senegal and Congo.
