Décathlon is still the favorite sports retailer of French people, according to a recent survey by OC&C, a management consulting firm. The survey, in its fifth year, was conducted on around 6,000 people in June-July 2014. Among sports retailers, Décathlon ranked ahead of both Intersport and the duo Go Sport / Sport 2000, reflecting the respective market shares in the country. Among the top retailers in all sectors, Décathlon maintained its 7th place despite the inclusion of new names, behind vente-privee, the French e-commerce company, but ahead of other big names in French and global retail such as Ikea, Apple store, Leclerc, Nature & Découvertes, Fnac, Cdiscount, Leboncoin and Ebay (27th). Picard took the No. 1 spot from Amazon, which had led the ranking in the previous two years. Spartoo registered the strongest progress between 2013 and 2014.
