Decathlon has partnered with public electric vehicle charging infrastructure provider Be.EV to provide ultra-fast electric vehicle charging points in a number of stores across the UK. This is Decathlon UK’s first partnership with a public charging network.
Locations are already planned in various stores across the UK, with the Decathlon site in Stockport being the first to receive charging stations in April 2024. The Stockport municipality currently has almost 2,700 registered electric vehicles.
The move is the latest step in Decathlon’s Transition 2026 plan, which will see the retailer reduce its carbon emissions by 20 percent by 2026.
Chris Allen, UK Sustainability & Circular Economy Leader at Decathlon, said, “Introducing ultra-rapid EV charging solutions at select stores in partnership with Be.EV exemplifies our commitment to responsible practices that can help contribute to a better environment. Aligning with our mission to champion people and planet-positive solutions.”
