Like many other retailers of sporting goods, Spain’s Deporvillage has experienced a run on fitness items with the onset of new Covid-19 lockdowns and a good autumn/winter season. Stationary bikes have been difficult enough to keep in stock, but never in its decade-long history has the e-tailer seen such demand for bicycle rollers as it has this year. Sales peaked from August to October. Customer enthusiasm has spread into smart rollers as well. Exercise bands, dumbbells, chin-up bars and the like have also proved difficult to stock. As CMDsport reports, sales of such items declined somewhat for Deporvillage over the summer, as consumers regained some freedom of movement, but have ticked up again since then. “Covid-19 has obviously taken the trend in home training and extended it throughout the year,” the company says.
