Deporvillage, the Spanish sports e-tailer, has launched its own cycling brand and will be its exclusive vendor. It is called Finisseur – the term for a cyclist who performs his team's final sprint – and its slogan is “Never look back.” The brand consists of more than 50 technical items: mostly cycling essentials, such as shorts, jerseys, gloves, socks and a small line of water bottles. All are designed in Italy and made by a European specialist. There will be two collections per year. The overall market strategy is to provide high quality at middle price points, but there will also be two apparel lines: Pro and Core, the former being of superior quality. Bib tights in the Pro line, for example, will be made of Jersey Lomellina in a Miti Power weave, with perforated bellies for comfort and breathability and 40mm elastics with silicone compression on the inside. Tights in the Core line will be made with a “Quick Drying” Topaz Coldblack weave to keep heat down and protect against ultraviolet rays.
