DPA, the German press agency, reports that Karstadt's new chief, Andrew Jennings, appointed at the beginning of the year, is serious about expanding its network of sports stores. Currently, it has 26 of them, plus 86 department stores and the three premium stores operated in Hamburg, Munich and Berlin. Jennings told DPA that Karstadt intends to open 8-10 new Karstadt Sports stores within the next three to four years. The chain is already looking for new locations to make the plan happen.
