Asos has teamed up with DPD, the big British parcel delivery firm, on a new textile recycling initiative called ReLove. Under the scheme, Asos customers will have an opportunity to donate unwanted clothing to five charities, including the British Heart Foundation, British Red Cross, Marie Curie, Scope or The Children’s Society. DPD will collect the clothing donations from Asos customers’ doorsteps, relabel the clothes and deliver them to one of those charities for free. Asos customers can select a charity through the same YourDPD app that they use to track a DPD delivery, with DPD then collecting the consignment at the same time as making the delivery in Asos’ behalf. The charities can later sell the donated items to raise money for their respective missions.
