Dynastar celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2023. The French brand, which is part of the Rossignol Group, has set itself the goal of continuing to lead the way in high-end ski performance while carving a more sustainable path forward for itself and for the ski industry. Part of this strategy is Dynastar’s Hybrid Core 2.0 ski construction, which is new for Fall/Winter 23/24 and represents an important part of the brand’s sustainability strategy. According to Dynastar, Hybrid Core 2.0 reduces environmental impact across six key indicators: environmental acidification, greenhouse gas emissions, freshwater use, particulate matter, material and mineral use and fossil fuel consumption.

A life cycle analysis conducted by Air Coop, a global brand network established to inform and improve the social and environmental impact of production, showed that material use in ski production contributes the most to environmental impact. The result: a significant reduction in all six environmental indicators mentioned above, helping to reduce emissions in the production of skis by a total of 120 tons, with the same or better performance on the slopes. As a result of the development of the Hybrid Core 2.0, 45 percent of Dynastar’s annual production volume will be eco-designed by winter 2025-2026.

In the 2023-2024 winter season, Hybrid Core 2.0 technology will be integrated into the M-Cross, E-Cross, M-Tour and E-Tour ranges, representing 13 percent of total production, rising to 23 percent by winter 2024/2025. The brand’s goal is to achieve an eco-design share of almost 45 percent of annual production in three years. The skis are manufactured at the historic Sallanches site in the French Alps.
