Ecco reckons that it became the world's fourth biggest brand of golf shoes in 2012. Its Golf Street line won several awards. The shutdown of Ecco's manufacturing facilities in Thailand, due to the autumn 2011 floods, did not prevent the company from raising its total revenues by 13.7 percent last year to 8,061 million Danish kroner (€1,080m-$1,412m), generating 23.3 percent higher net profit of DK683.7 million (€85.6m-$111.9m). In Europe, the Middle East and Africa, however, sales of shoes and accessories grew by only 3.5 percent to DK4.32 billion (€579.2m-$756.6m).
