Eight people were indicted by a New York grand jury earlier this month in connection with the scandal that erupted around U.S. college basketball. They include Jim Gatto, an Adidas executive who was in charge of sports marketing for basketball, along with four assistant basketball coaches, an agent, an Adidas consultant and a maker of custom-made apparel for professional athletes. Adidas said earlier that it immediately put the relevant people on leave and engaged outside counsel to conduct a thorough investigation, while fully cooperating with the authorities.
