Elan has taken over the distribution of its products in the U.S. from Alpina Sports Corporation (ASC), the U.S. subsidiary of the eponymous Slovenian manufacturer of shoes and skis boots. The two Slovenian companies are switching roles in the U.S. ASC has been distributing Elan's snow sports products there since 2011, and now the newly formed Elan Sports USA will distribute those of Alpina. Located in Lebanon, North Hampshire, the operation will continue to be led by Gary Fleming, using a well-established sales force. Elan has obtained new resources following its acquisition by private investors in 2015, and Elan's sales of skis in the U.S. have grown strongly under Fleming's management and with the appointment in 2016 of an American industry veteran, Jeff Machura, as global product development and marketing director.
