Ellesse has announced a three-year partnership with Patta, a global streetwear brand, which aims to change the perception of tennis, making it more accessible for everyone regardless of their socio-economic background. The partnership will kick off with a community-based tennis tournament in the U.K., called “City Slam,” on July 18. The two-part tournament, run by a sporting charity, Performance Plus Sport UK, will see 16 aspiring tennis players, aged 14-17, from different social backgrounds across the U.K. take part in a series of “Hot Shot” games played in 10-minute intervals. The winners will be awarded a one-year scholarship for individual training programs, funded by Ellesse and Patta, as well as tennis equipment and clothing.
