Ellesse has released an apparel collection co-branded with Cobra Kai, the Netflix show that serves as a sequel to the old Karate Kid movies. The collection’s hoodies, sweatshirts, T-shirts, track tops and track pants sport the colors, catchphrases and logos of the show’s two rival karate dojos, Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do. The items also call back to the 1980s, when the movies were released and Ellesse was dressing Boris Becker at Wimbledon.
A marketing campaign for the collection was shot at the largest dojo in the U.K., London’s Fightzone. The items are on sale through the Netlfix Shop, Zalando and DTLR. The latter U.S. retail chain was recently acquired by JD Sports Fashion, which is controlled by Pentland Group. Ellesse is owned by Pentland Brands.
