The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced that it is increasing match fees for England Women to reach equal match fees for the women’s and men’s teams. As reported in July, the International Cricket Council (ICC) had already announced that men’s and women’s teams would receive equal prize money at ICC events. The ECB decision was also a reflection of record-breaking crowds of 110,000 at this summer’s Metro Bank Women’s Ashes series, accompanied by record TV viewing for the event, the organization said in a statement. The increase takes effect immediately.
