Eric Cuenot, general manager at Nike France since October 2012, has been appointed to lead several key sports categories in Latin America and Asia Pacific, Sport-guide.com reports. Cuenot already obtained extra responsibilities as vice president and general manager for Nike France as well as Northern Europe from October 2016. He will reportedly be replaced at Nike France by Christophe Merkel, who has been heading Nike Japan for the last two years as vice president and general manager. He was previously Nike's general manager in Poland and in Turkey, and he is familiar with the French subsidiary as its former director of finance and operations, for nearly three years until 2011. Merkel's former employers include L'Oréal and Danone. Cuenot joined Nike in 2010 to lead its Russian subsidiary, after he climbed the ranks at Procter & Gamble, in France and in Russia. Sport-guide.com reports that Cuenot's remit should include football and running. Nike has yet to answer a query on this reported change.
