Erica Kerner, global Olympic Games director at the Adidas Group, left the company in September, only a few months before the start of the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Kerner was supervising the comprehensive sponsorship and licensing program put together by Adidas for these Olympics, as she had already done in Beijing in 2008. She left to become vice-president of marketing and communications for Polo Ralph Lauren in Asia. Adidas said that there would be no direct replacement for Kerner, since the group was moving to the implementation phase for its 2012 Olympic program, which will be driven by existing marketing teams in the U.K. and at the global level.
