According to the Commission, the amount of clothing produced, worn and discarded annually is 11.3 kg per EU inhabitant. Under the slogan #ReFashionNow, the campaign seeks to address this issue by raising awareness of the environmental, social, economic and health benefits of transforming the textile sector and the opportunities that sustainable fashion opens up for both businesses and consumers.

The campaign is particularly aimed at young Europeans, who make up the majority of fast-fashion consumers.
