Eurobike's organizers have teamed up with counterparts in Thailand to set up a new trade fair targeting the cycling business in South East Asia. Aseanbike powered by Eurobike will be held for the first time next year, over three days starting on Oct. 3, at the Impact Exhibition and Convention Center in Bangkok. It will be put together in partnership with N.C.C. Exhibition Organizer (NEO), which has been organizing the International Bangkok Bike show for consumers in Thailand for the last ten years. Messe Friedrichshafen, the company that organizes Eurobike, has created the new Aseanbike event as a platform for business and consumers in the South East Asian market. Eurobike explained in a statement that the Association of South-East Asian Nations (Asean) is a promising market with a growing number of production sites for bicycles and components, and prospective demand on the back of rising income. It could become all the more relevant in the context of current trade relations. Aseanbike powered by Eurobike will be open to OEM manufacturers, brands, importers and distributors, as well as retailers and service providers. Like Eurobike, it should have two days reserved for business visitors with the last day open to consumers. Eurobike said it would not in any way replace the Asia Bike show, which is held in Nanjing as part of the Asia Outdoor show. Separately, Eurobike announced earlier this month that ZEG, the German buying group, is returning to the show in 2019 after a two-year absence with its own brands. ZEG's participation in the fair scheduled for early September 2019 is part of a three-year commitment from the buying group.
