The Glasgow 2026 Organising Company has announced the executive team who will deliver the 23rd Commonwealth Games, scheduled to take place from July 23 to August 2, 2026.

Phil Batty has been appointed Chief Executive Officer. Additionally, Jade Gallagher has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer; Faye Shaw joins as Chief Financial and Corporate Services Officer; Louisa Mahon joins as Chief Marketing and Communications Officer; and Martin Fitchie has been named Chief Information Officer.

Batty has a strong track record in major event delivery, having previously served as Director of Ceremonies, Culture & Queen’s Baton Relay for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. In his role as CEO of Skymagic, a drone light show business, he has worked internationally to deliver a program of global shows and events. He has also held senior positions for the UK City of Culture program and as Board member of Spirit of 2012, the London 2012 legacy funder. 

Jade Gallagher has formerly been Championships Director of the World Athletics Indoor Championships, held in Glasgow in 2024, and has worked on Festival 2014 as part of the program of the previous Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Louisa Mahon joins from Renfrewshire Council, where she was Head of Marketing, Communications and Events. Faye Shaw was previously Managing Director of Serco Business Services and CFO of Vivo Defence Services. Martin Fitchie worked as the Head of Results Technology Services for Glasgow 2014 and subsequently across various multi-sport events and championships in Scotland.

Glasgow 2026 will feature a ten-sport program across venues within an eight-mile corridor of the city. The Games are being delivered by the Glasgow 2026 Organising Company in partnership with the Commonwealth Games Federation and Commonwealth Games Scotland.

The Commonwealth Games is a quadrennial multi-sport event among athletes from the Commonwealth of Nations. The inaugural edition, then called the British Empire Games, was held in 1930 in the Canadian city of Hamilton, Ontario. The latest edition of the Commonwealth Games in 2022 was held in Birmingham, UK.
