The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has announced that the inaugural Olympic Esports Games 2025 will be hosted in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The duration of the partnership between the IOC and the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Saudi Arabia will be 12 years, with Olympic Esports Games held regularly, said the IOC in a statement.

Following this announcement, and the IOC’s Executive Board proposal of the creation of the Olympic Esports Games on the eve of Paris 2024, work will begin to select a city and venue for the inaugural edition of the Olympic Esports Games, as well as the specific timing of the event, the titles to be included, the qualification process for the players and other details.
