Marquee Brands, the parent company of Body Glove, Dakine and various fashion brands, has appointed Neil Fiske as its first chief executive. Sam Porat, managing director of Neuberger Berman, the investment company behind Marquee Brands, noted that Fiske is joining the group with “world-class multi-brand operational experience” and “a track record of successfully building and repositioning brands.” He was very active at Billabong International, where he resigned the post of CEO in the spring of 2018, along with other company officials, in connection with its merger into Boardriders. A couple of months later, he was named global brand director of Gap. Fiske had been placed at the head of Billabong in 2013 following its financial rescue by Oaktree Capital Management, the current major shareholder of Boardriders, and Centerbridge Partners. He had previously spent five years as president and CEO of Eddie Bauer.
