With immediate effect, Chiemsee has a new brand director in Alexander Timmers. He succeeds Lutz Mai, who is leaving the company at his own request at the end of June. Timmers has many years of experience in sales, marketing and product management. For the last two years, he has worked independently as a consultant in the sports and fashion trade. Before that, he worked as director of apparel at Sympatex Technologies, was responsible for sales at Schöffel and Ludwig Maul and was a key buyer at retailer Karstadt Sport. In addition to professional qualifications, he brings with him a personal passion for outdoor sports. Timmers will be responsible for expanding and intensifying the business with existing and new retail partnerships.
Chiemsee, better known to many as Windsurfing Chiemsee, was founded in 1982 by Martin Imdahl in Grabenstätt in Bavaria at the lake of the same name (Chiemsee). In 2003, the northern German Schmidt Group, based in Norderstedt, took over the company. Brand director Timmers is looking forward to his new task: “Exciting times lie ahead of us. Chiemsee is a brand with a great tradition. I want to play my part in the journey and actively drive the 40-year Chiemsee success story forward in the future.”
