The German multichannel sports retailer Sport Conrad has appointed Maria Ries to the position of CSR Manager on Jan. 1, 2024. She takes over from Stefanie Buchacher, who has played a key role in shaping the company’s sustainability strategy over the past three years and left Sport Conrad at her own request at the end of 2023.
After completing her state exam in natural sciences and her master’s degree in business administration, Ries has held various professional positions in the field of corporate responsibility at group level and in consulting. Among other things, she was Corporate Responsibility Manager for implementing the sustainability strategy at Telefonica Deutschland/O2. Most recently, she worked as a senior consultant at the international communications consultancy lnstinctif Partners for listed and non-listed companies in various industries in the field of sustainability reporting and communication.
“We have been pursuing a consistent sustainability strategy since 2018,” said Managing Director Hans Conrad. “Maria Ries will continue to drive this strategy forward and brings the necessary expertise for our CSR reporting.”
