Pou Sheng has announced that Yuang-Whang Liao has resigned as an Executive Director and member of the Disclosure Committee, effective Sept. 4, 2023. Liao stated that he has no disagreement with the Board and that there is no matter to be brought to the attention of the shareholders of the company or the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited in connection with his resignation. In his place, Li-Chieh Chen has been appointed as an Executive Director and a member of the Disclosure Committee.
Chen is currently the Chief Financial Officer of Pou Sheng. He joined the group in May 2020 and was initially responsible for the finance and taxation of the Retail Business Unit. He is also a director of certain subsidiaries and a supervisor of a subsidiary of Yue Yuen Industrial Ltd. and a controlling shareholder of the company. Prior to joining the group, Chen worked for an international accounting firm and Pou Chen Corporation, a company listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange and a majority shareholder of Yue Yuen, as head of the tax and finance departments for the South China region from 2007 to 2020. He has more than 20 years of experience in auditing, taxation and financial management. Chen will hold the office of Executive Director until the next annual general meeting of the company and may be re-elected at the same meeting.
