
Seoul, South Korea-based fiber manufacturer Hyosung has hired Simon Whitmarsh-Knight as its new global marketing director for textiles. In his most recent roles as managing director at HD® Wool Active Insulation, EMEA marketing director for Hyosung, and marketing director and later director EMEA activewear and outdoor apparel at Invista, Whitmarsh-Knight led senior-level partnerships across the textile value chain – from mills to packaging companies, apparel manufacturers, fiber ingredient brands, distributors, licensees and major consumer brands. His first stint at Hyosung was from 2018 to 2020, and in his new role, he will lead the company’s global marketing for the Creora elastane fiber line, Mipan nylon and specialty polyester fibers. Whitmarsh-Knight will be based in the U.K. Hyosung claims to be the world’s largest elastane brand.
