California-based United Sports Brands (USB), the parent company of Pearl Izumi, Shock Doctor, McDavid, Cutters, Nathan and Glukos, has appointed Phil Gyori as its new Chief Executive Officer. His appointment comes in the weeks following the acquisition of USB by Norwest Equity Partners, which closed on Nov. 20, 2023.
Gyori has over 30 years of executive and management experience and a proven track record of driving rapid business growth. He most recently served as CEO of Pelican Products and has also held leadership positions at leading outdoor and lifestyle brands such as Bushnell and Nike. Under his leadership at Pelican, the company experienced tremendous revenue growth, with sales increasing by nearly 50 percent during his 7-year tenure. In his previous 16-year tenure at Bushnell, he helped the company increase sales five-fold and successfully integrate ten acquisitions.
