The Uvex Sports Group with its brands Uvex, Alpina and Hiplok appointed a new management duo on Jan. 1, 2024. Patrick Hebling and Patrick Angeletti have joined the management board as CEO and CFO/COO, respectively. Michael Winter, Managing Partner of the Uvex Group, explained: “In appointing new members to the management board, we rely on tried-and-tested employees from our own ranks. I am delighted that we have found two experienced and successful managers familiar with our family business and the challenging market environment.”
Hebling, the new CEO, has been with Alpina, the second strong Uvex Sports Group brand, since 2014, most recently as Business Unit Director Brand/Product & Sales. He started his career there as International Sales Director. He has over 20 years of experience and expertise in the sporting goods industry.
Angeletti joined the Uvex Sports Group in 2021 as Director Finance & Commercial Services. Before that, he held commercial positions in renowned companies such as HRS, Döhler Group and BASF. He now serves as Commercial Managing Director for the Uvex, Alpina and Hiplok brands. He will also manage the Uvex factories in Lederdorn and Nyrsko.
Uvex Sports Group had to contend with massive sales and earnings losses in the past financial year 2022/23, caused by the continued consumer reluctance to buy and ruinous competition from low-cost suppliers from the Far East.
The company announced it would part ways with Christophe Weissenberger, Managing Director/CEO of the Uvex Sports Group since September 2016, and Dr. Michael Dannhauser, CFO/COO since January 2019, last summer.
“In the current situation, continuity and a fresh start are needed in addition to expertise,” said Winter. “As a powerful dual leadership team, Patrick Hebling and Patrick Angeletti will solve the current challenges. The strategies, processes, and structures of the Uvex Sports Group have been optimized, and the course for a successful future has been set together.”
